Nova dokumentfilmo pri Esperanto: «La Universala Lingvo»

Mi nomiĝas Sam Green. Mi estas oksar-premio-nomumita dokumentfilmisto en Sanfrancisko, Kalifornio. Mi kontaktas vin por sciigi al vi pri mia nova dokumentfilmo nomata La Universala Lingvo. Ĉi tiu 30-minuta filmo sekvas la historion de Esperanto, kaj inkluzivas maloftan arkivan filmadon de Zamenhof kaj fruaj esperantistoj, kune kun intervjuoj kun Humphrey Tonkin, Arika Okrent, Renato Corsetti, kaj multaj aliaj.

Esperantistoj estas ekscitataj pri La Universala Lingvo! Blogisto Chuck Smith nomis la filmon unu el liaj 10 plej gravaj okazaĵoj de 2011, verkante «Mi dirus, ke la plej granda sukceso de la Esperanto-movado ĉi-jare devas esti La Universala Lingvo.» Renato Corsetti, eksprezidanto de UEA diris: «Mi spektis La Universalan Lingvon kun granda plezuro kaj esperas, ke ĝi sukcesas kiel ĝi meritas. Se oni spektos ĝin televide, tiu pensos pli pri Esperanto. Kelkaj homoj en Kopenhago sin esprimis, ke oni devintus fari pli propagandecan filmon. Ili ne komprenas, ke objektiva filmo estas pli forta.»

My name is Sam Green. I am an Academy Award-nominated documentary filmmaker based in San Francisco, California. I am getting in touch to tell you about my new documentary film entitled The Universal Language. This 30-minute film traces the history of Esperanto, and includes rare archival footage of Ludwig Zamenhof and early Esperantists as well as interviews with Humphrey Tonkin, Arika Okrent, Renato Corsetti, and many others.

Esperantists are abuzz about The Universal Language! Blogger Chuck Smith called the film one of his top 10 Esperanto Highlights of 2011, writing «I’d say the greatest success of the Esperanto movement this year has to be The Universal Language.» Renato Corsetti, past president of the UEA said: «I saw The Universal Language with great pleasure and I hope it will have the success it deserves. If it is shown in TV channels it could bring many people to think further about Esperanto. Some people in Copenhagen expressed the view that a more propagandistic film should have been made. They don’t realize that the strength of an objective film is greater.»
